The Pokerstars European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of poker tournaments similar to those in the World Poker Tour (WPT), created by John Duthie, winner of the inaugural Poker Million tournament. It began in 2004 as part of the worldwide explosion in Texas Hold ’em popularity. The EPT is sponsored by and part owned by PokerStars and taped by Sunset + Vine for television broadcast across Europe.
This Year’s event took place in Barcelona, on the August 18-30, 2015. date and had an impressive number of poker players gathered 2,560 number.
The winner of €865,900 of this EPT event was Martin Finger (for the €25,000 High Roller). In addition to this award he also won the European Poker Tour Prague Main Event and the EPT London Super High Roller and won the Triple Crown.
The tournament was scheduled for a day to coincide with the Day 1b of the Main Event but was postponed until Thursday, day one of the event included football superstars Neymar Jr and Gerard Pique.
In the last game day, the tournament started with 3 players such as Liv Boeree who was the first eliminated, Martin Finger who was chip leader and Mark Teltscher. The final battle was between Teltscher and Finger.
The final hand, Finger held a 2:1 chip lead and Teltscher ended up all in with jack-nine against the ace-four of the German. The board kept Finger’s ace-high in the lead, and Teltscher was knocked out in second place for €586,500.
Finger now has more than $6 million in live tournament earnings, and this becomes his second largest score behind the EPT 10 London Super High Roller that earned him £821,000.
